The M17 series compound microscopes feature infinity-corrected optics that allow one or more auxiliary components (illuminators or polarizer) to be added without altering the alignment between the objective and tube lens. Even with added components infinity-corrected optics produce exactly 1x magnification allowing easy comparison between specimens.

These research level microscopes feature a 30° inclined eyepieces with diopter and interpupilllary adjustment from 54 to 76 mm. A bright 3 W LED illumination system and widefield 20 mm eyepieces provide a sharp image. The 100xR objective is spring-loaded and sealed to protect optics from contact or oil damage. Optically coated Abbe 1.25 N.A. brightfield condenser allows maximum transmission and enhanced contrast.
