A built-in rechargeable battery with low battery indicator provides up to 200 hours of operation. Other features include visual weight limit indicators, automatic zero tracking, taring, audible alarm for checkweighing, real-time clock, and accumulation function that stores and recalls individual weights or counts. Hardware is included to mount the unit on a pole for added convenience.

The AE 504 indicator has all the same features of the AE 503 along with a check counting application, price lookup code (PLU) function to store and retrieve up to 1,006 weight values, and a numeric key pad for manually entering tare weight, unit weight, and sample size values. Functions include weighing, check weighing, parts counting, and percent weighing.
