The EX820A clamp-on multimeter features a built-in IR thermometer with laser pointer that makes troubleshooting heat-sensitive areas simple. The IR thermometer measures temperatures up to 270 °C (518 °F) and has a distance-to-spot ratio of 8:1 to help identify hot spots from a distance. The clamp meter accepts a type K thermocouple probe to measure temperatures up to 760 °C (1400 °F)*. The versatile meter also measures AC/DC voltage, AC current, resistance, continuity, capacitance, diode, and frequency.
The large, 43 mm (1.7”) diameter, jaw opening handles conductors up to one 750 MCM or two 500 MCM. Set the meter to LoZ mode to prevent false readings due to ghost voltage. Activate the low-pass filter to minimize electrical noise to ensure accurate measurements. A large 6000-count LCD with backlight allows easy measurement reading even in dimly lit areas. Ergonomically designed housing offers a firm grip for one-handed operation. The CAT IV-600 V safety-rated meter with rugged, double-molded housing provides excellent durability.
