This cell disrupter is designed for high-throughput analytical screening to safely disrupt up to 192 samples of spores, microorganisms, plant and animal tissue, or soil samples at a time. The horizontal vial orientation gives faster cell lysis than vertical, up and down motions. This results in the sample being shaken for 2 to 3 minutes to achieve over 90% cell disruption. The shaking speed is 36 oscillations/second or 2100 rpm. The shaking pattern is a compressed “figure eight.” Homogenizer features a 0- to 5-minute timer with automatic reset.
The platform holds one or two deep well mircroplates or up to 45 standard microvials. Since the plates are disposable, this is ideal for applications where cross-contamination is not acceptable. Order optional aluminum rack that can be pre-chilled when cooling is desirable for protein isolation.
