How can I find a product in the online catalog?
Products can be found several ways. A Catalog Search Box is available on the side navigation
bar of every page to quickly find a product. An Advanced Search is available by clicking
on the magnifying glass icon at the top of the page. Also, you can drill down through
different product categories within the catalog to view the products.
How does the catalog search work?
If you want to quickly find a product or accessory, the Search function allows you to quickly search
through thousands of products to find related information. A Catalog Search Box is available on the
side navigation bar of every page to quickly find a product. The search field allows you to search for
products by entering any one of the following pieces of information:
- Enter a valid Cole-Parmer item number in the search field (i.e. P-10270-30 will take you immediately to Intrinsically Safe Anemometers).
- Enter at least four characters of a valid Cole-Parmer item number to return items that contain that search criteria (P-05656- will return items that contain P-05656)
- Enter a Keyword (i.e., such as pipettes).
- Enter a Page Number from the 2003-2004 General Cole-Parmer catalog in the search field (i.e., for page 12, enter 12).
- Enter the beginning of a valid Manufacturer Part Number.
After entering the information, click on Go or Search.
You can further define you searches by adding "and" or "or" to your searches.
For example:
'Masterflex and pumps' will return all items that have both 'Masterflex' and 'pumps' |
Returns less results |
'Masterflex or pumps' will return all items that have either 'Masterflex' or 'pumps' |
Returns more results |
The search does not employ wild card characters.
The results will be displayed on the Search Results page. To view an item displayed from the Search, click
on the related link.
How do I use the table of contents?
Once you have accessed the Online Catalog -Table of Contents, you can browse specific product categories.
- Click on any of the product categories (i.e., Balances).
- Within the product category, there are two options for viewing:
- Click on the name of the group you wish to view.
- Or if you wish to see multiple groups, click the checkbox next to the groups you wish to view. When finished selecting the groups, click on the LIST button located at the top of the list.
What does the product filter do?
The Product Filter allows you to filter a list of products based on a particular product feature. When
viewing a list of products, options will be available in the Product Filter gray bar located at the top of the products list.

To filter the product list:
- Click on one of the features located in the Product Filter bar above the products (i.e., for Air Blowers, your choices are by type, flow range, or minimum operating depth).
- To compare two or more products, click on the checkbox to the left of the products you wish to view and click on the Compare button located at the top of the product list. You will be limited to comparing 20 items at a time.

If you are having difficulty finding a certain product,
here are some tips to help you locate it:
- If you have a copy of the 2003-2004 General Cole-Parmer catalog, search on the page number.
- If you know the item number (sku), enter that in the Catalog Search box and click GO.
- If you know the category of the product, enter it in the Catalog Search or click on the product category to find the product.

Is the Product Available?
It is important to know if a product is out of stock or readily available for shipment.
When ordering the product from the description page, the inventory status will notify
you if the product is in stock or out-of-stock, or that it will be available in a certain
number of days.
Need to order accessories or replacement parts?
Many products have accessories and replacement parts. To find the accessories or replacement parts for a particular product:
- Click on the product for which you wish to find an accessory or replacement part.
- All accessories and replacement parts for that particular product will be located in the gray box on the right side of the page.
- To order a replacement part or accessory, click on the item.
- Another window will appear that contains relevant information: SKU number, a short description, the inventory status and the quantity of the product. To change the quantity, simply type in the
new amount you wish to order and click on Add to Cart to add the item to the shopping
cart. To cancel, click on Close.
